Dear Residents and
Families,
The purpose of this letter is to communicate updates regarding our covid-19
reporting and the actions we continue to take to combat and protect our
community.
As a result of last week’s
positive resident, we tested all residents yesterday, 11/24. We tested two nursing
units using the Point of Care Rapid Test. The rest of the facility we utilized
our PCR test, and those results are pending.
The Rapid Test resulted
in 3 residents showing presumptive positive. Consequently, we swabbed
these three residents again using our PCR test and those results are pending.
Those three resident
rooms have been placed on Transmission-Based Precautions pending the PCR test
results. Their family members have been notified and these residents may not
have visitation until isolation precautions are lifted.
All three presumptive
positive residents are doing well.
We were also notified
this week that 1 employee tested positive for Covid. This employee last worked
on 11/13. Was tested on 11/16 by their Primary Care Physician (PCP) and results
were obtained 11/24. This employee remains at home under self-quarantine.
These recent updates will
not change our current visitation schedule. I believe we can safely continue
with visitations until further notice.
As of 11/25 and since
the start of this pandemic:
- We currently have 2* residents positive with Covid. (One positive covid resident admitted from HGH on 11/23)
- We have had a total of 31 residents test positive with
Covid-19. This is an increase of 0 since our last update.
- We have had 14 employees who tested positive since this
pandemic started. This is an increase of 1 since our last update. Two
employees remain at home in self-quarantine.
Of the 31 residents:
- 20 Residents recovered. This is an increase of 0 since
our last update.
- 2* Residents currently in-house with positive Covid
results.
- 10 Residents expired and who had tested positive for
Covid. This is an increase of 0 since our last update.
The Commonwealth
recently updated the travel guidance related to those coming into
Pennsylvania as well as Pennsylvanians traveling outside the Commonwealth.
As a result of this new
guidance, Hanover Hall will need to apply this guidance to all visitors.
Latest Guidance At A Glance
- The Secretary of Health issued an order requiring anyone who visits from another state to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to entering the commonwealth.
- If someone cannot get a test or chooses not to, they must quarantine for 14 days upon arrival in Pennsylvania.
- Pennsylvanians visiting other states are required to have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to their return to the commonwealth, or to quarantine for 14 days upon return to Pennsylvania. This does NOT apply to people who commute to and from another state for work or medical treatment.
- This order takes effect at
12:01 a.m. Friday, November 20.
We have and will
continue to test our residents, who show any signs/symptoms. We believe this is
in the best interest of our community. We are still very vigilant in our focus
to protect and achieve the mitigation that we have achieved previously.
We appreciate your
continued prayers and trust in the care and services we provide and for your
understanding and support of any necessary adjustments as this situation
evolves.
Please feel free to
contact me at 717-633-4520 with any questions or
concerns.
May God bless us all.
Respectfully,
Daniel Pyle, NHA
Administrator, Hanover Hall
